Compost tea?

I've heard that there is a compost tea that you can 'brew' and use on your lawn to help supplement the traditional fertilizer that you use from companies like Weed Man. Has anyone tried it?

To make the compost tea: put some compost in a nylon (or you can use cloth) bag, let it breath and feed with water for 1-2 days. Apparently, you're supposed to spray through the bag onto the grass. Sounds strange?

I'm always looking for alternative lawn care solutions. I'm a Weed Man fan, but I know that even the Weed Man programs need some help. At any rate, if anyone has used this and can offer some results information, I would greatly appreciate it.
